BAFF (B Lymphocyte Stimulator), Human Recombinant

pDESCRIPTION: Recombinant Human BAFF produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 153 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 17007 Dalton. BAFF functions as a potent B-cell growth factor in costimulation assays. Administration of recombinant Human BAFF to mice disrupts splenic B-cell and T-cell zones and results in elevated levels of serum immunoglobulin. The rHuBAFFis purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.br /
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Ala-Val-Gln-Gly.br /

DIMERS amp; AGREGATES: Less than 1% as determined by silver-stained SDS-PAGE gel analysisbr /
PROTEIN CONTENT: Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:br /
1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm.br /
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a standard solution of BAFF as a Reference Standard.br /
FORM: Purified, in 1.6 mg Mannitol and 1.2 mg HSA.br /
BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY: rHuBAFF is fully biologically active when compared to standard.br /
The activity is determined by the dose-dependant stimulation of IL-8 production by human PBMC. The ED50 for this effect is less than 10ng/ml.br /
