Functional Aspects:

p27 protein, also known as kinase inhibitory protein 1 (Kip1), binds to cyclin E/cdk2 complexes and is found in growtharrested cells. p27 is found in proliferating cells in only a sequestered form when it cannot interact with cyclin E/cdk2 complexes. This antibody was raised against a recombinant antigen corresponding to the full length p27 molecule.
