Description
Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 4 (TIMP-4) binds to metalloproteinases such as collagenases and irreversibly inactivates the proteases. TIMP-4 is involved in the extracellular matrix remodeling by binding to MMP-1, -2, -3, -7, and -9.
