FORMULATION: 100 ug (0.5 mg/ml) rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, and 0.02% thimerosal.

STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store at -20oC. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.

BACKGROUND: TGF-? (Transforming growth factor-beta superfamily members are critical regulators of cell proliferation, differentiation, morphogenesis, and pathogenesis. TGF-beta receptor is a serine/threonine kinase receptor complex that consists of two distinct transmembrane proteins known as type I and type II receptors. In response to ligand binding, the type II receptors form a stable complex with the type I receptors allowing phosphorylation and thus activation of the type I receptor kinases.

SPECIFICITY: The antibody recognizes ~52 kDa TGF-? Receptor I of human and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.

APPLICATION: The antibody can be used in Western blotting (0.5-4 ug/ml). Based on researchers feedback, it can also be used in immunohistochemistry (10-20 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually.
