FORMULATION:

100 ug (0.5 mg/ml) peptide affinity purified rabbit anti-SHPS-1/SIRP-1a polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% thimerosal.

Store at -20oC. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.



BACKGROUND DESCRIPTION:

SHPS-1, also known as SIRP-1a, MyD-1, BIT, p84, or MFR, is a SHP-2 associated glycosylated receptor-like protein. SHP-2 has many splice variants and range from 75-110 kDa. It is a signal transducer for several receptor tyrosine kinases and cytokine receptors. SHPS-1 is a substrate of many activated tyrosine kinase such as insulin receptor, EGFR, PDGFR, and src, a specific docking protein for SHP-2. SHPS-1 has regulatory effects on cellular responses induced by serum, growth factors, insulin, oncogene, growth hormones and cell adhesion and plays a general role in different physiological and pathological processes. The mRNA of SHPS-1 is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells.



SPECIFICITY:

The antibody detects proteins ranging from 75-105 kDa corresponding to the splice variants of SIRPa1, 2, and 3 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots.



APPLICATION AND USAGE:

The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (1-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Other applications have not been tested.
