FORMULATION: 100 ug (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified goat anti-human Resistin polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
SPECIES REACTIVITY: human
STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store at -20oC. For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.
BACKGROUND: Resistin (also called adipose tissue-specific secretory factor, ADSF) is a member of the family of adipocyte-secreted proteins. Resistin appears to act on skeletal muscle myocytes, hepatocytes, and adipocytes themselves, where it is suggested to reduce insulin sensitivity leading to type 2 diabetes.
APPLICATION AND USAGE: The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (1-2 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
SPECIFICITY: The antibody detects human resistin.
