Left: Example current responses to 100 ms depolarization to 0 mV from holding potential of ?00 mV, delivered every 10 seconds before (red) and during application of 10 nM rAgitoxin-1. Right: Time course of amplitude inhibition. The effects of 10 and 50 nM rAgitoxin-1 on Kv1.3 current amplitude are shown. The horizontal bars indicate the periods of toxin perfusion. |

Agitoxin 1 was originally isolated from L. quinquestriatus hebraeus. rAgitoxin-1 is a recombinant peptide expressed in and extracted from E. coli and purified to homogeneity. Like Agitoxin-2 (#RTA-420), rAgitoxin-1 is a potent blocker of the Shaker voltage-gated K+ channels as well as the mammalian homologues of Shaker.1
