Western Blotting (WB) and Immunohistochemistry. A concentration of 1.0 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human Transferrin Receptor (membrane form) has a predicted length of 760 residues and MW of 85 kDa. A concentration of 1.0 µg/mL is recommended for IHC. Heat mediated antigen retrieval is recommended. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Description (Long Description) : 

The uptake of iron in cells occurs via the receptor-mediated endocytosis of the Transferrin receptor (TfR) bound to diferric transferrin into endosomes. Endosomal acidification leads to the release of the iron. The transferrin-receptor complex is then recycled to the cell surface with a return to neutral pH and a loss of affinity of apotransferrin for its receptor. Soluble Transferrin receptor (sTfR) is a serum circulating truncated form of the membrane receptor protein.
