Application_Details :

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 0.1-0.5 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human MMP14 has a predicted length of 582 residues and MW of 66 kDa. A concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect the protein in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues as well as formalin or acetone fixed frozen tissues. Heat mediated antigen retrieval is required. A concentration of 0.5-1.0 µg/mL is recommended for IHC-F. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Description (Long Description) : 

The matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a large family of  zinc endopeptidases. All MMPs are synthesized as inactive proenzymes. The activation of these proenzymes is a critical step that leads to degradation of extracellular matrix components such as fibronectin and collagen type III. MMP14 is expressed in stromal cells of colon, breast, and head and neck and activates MMP2 (progelatinase A) by cleavage.
