Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 1.0 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human Catenin gamma has a predicted length of 745 residues and MW of 82 kDa. A concentration of 1.0-2.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect Catenin gamma in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Antigen retrieval is required. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Catenin gamma, also known as Junction Plakoglobin, is a common junctional plaque protein. It is a cytoplasmic protein with soluble and membrane-associated forms. The presence of Catenin gamma in both the desmosomes and in the intermediate junctions suggests it has a role in the structure and function of submembranous plaques.
