Description
pstrongAntibody Target :/strongPhospho-c-Myc/p
pbHost: /bRabbit/p
pbAntibody Type: /bPolyclonal/p
pbIsotype: /bRabbit IgG/p
pbAntibody Form: /bAffinity Purified Antibody/p
pbImmunogen Sequence: /bSynthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Thr58/Ser62 of human c-Myc/p
pbAccession#: /bCAA25288/p
pbGene ID: /b29997/p
pbAppearance: /bColorless liquid/p
pbConcentration: /b0.2 mg/ml/p
pbFormulation: /b100 micro;g (0.2 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% thimerosal./p
pbPurification: /bAffinity purified/p
pbSpecies Reactivity: /bhu/ms/rt/p
pbApplication: /bWB/IP/IHC/p
pbApplication amp; Usage: /bWestern blot analysis (0.5-4 micro;g/ml), immunoprecipitation (2-4 micro;g/ml), and immunohistochemistry (10-20 micro;g/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The Phospho-c-Myc (Thr58/Ser62) antibody detects only phosphorylated Thr58/Ser62 of c-Myc. It does not react with non-phosphorylated c-Myc./p
pbStorage Temp.: /b-20 deg;C/p
pbShipping : /bgel pack/p
pbShelf Life: /b12 months/p
pbHandling: /bThe antibody solution should be gently mixed before use./p
pbBrief Background Descriptions: /bThe transcription factor c-Myc is a short-lived nuclear phosphoprotein involved in cell proliferation, differentiation and cancer regulation. c-Myc binds to DNA and activates transcription as a heterodimeric complex with Max. c-Myc is phosphorylated in vitro by MAP Kinase at Ser62 and in vivo c-Myc is phosphorylated at both Thr58 and Ser62. Mutation of The58 and Ser62 to Ala inhibits the ability of c-Myc to activate transcription, suggesting that phosphorylation regulates the ability of c-Myc to stimulate transcription. c-Myc appears to regulate multiple aspects of growth control: it promotes cell proliferation in the presence of cdk inhibitors and induces apoptosis with overexpression in serum deprived cells./p
