IMMUNOGEN: Synthetic peptide mapping to the N-terminus of rat nNOS
FORMULATION: 100 ug (0.5 mg/ml) protein A affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, and 0.02% thimerosal.
SPECIES REACTIVITY: human, mouse, rat
STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store at -20oC. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.
BACKGROUND: Analysis of cDNA clones has identified three distinct NOS (nitric oxide synthase) genes in mammals: neuronal (nNOS), endothelial (eNOS), and macrophage (mNOS). Both nNOS and eNOS are constitutive and the mNOS is inducible.
SPECIFICITY: The antibody recognizes 155-165 kDa nNOS from human, mouse, and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.
APPLICATION: The antibody can be used in Western blotting (1-2 ug/ml) and immunohistochemistry (10-20 ug/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually.
