Introduction:
The measurement of nitric oxide (NO) is important for examination of the regulatory roles of NO in various biological systems. Diaminofluoresceins (DAFs), fluorescence indicators for NO, were applied to detect the release of NO from cells. DAFs react with NO to yield the green-fluorescent triazolofluoresceins, which provide the advantages of specificity, sensitivity and a simple method for the detection of NO. Using this probe, less than 5 nM of NO can be detected.
