Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 2.0-4.0 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Boiling the protein is not recommended as it causes aggregation. Human Na+/K+ ATPase subunit alpha 1 has a predicted length of 1,023 amino acids and a MW of 113 kDa. A concentration of 4.0-8.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect Na+/K+ ATPase subunit alpha 1 in formalin or acetone fixed tissues. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Description (Long Description) : 

Na+/K+ ATPase is an integral membrane heterodimer  belonging to the family of P-type cation transport ATPases. The enzyme is comprised of a large catalytic alpha subunit and a smaller beta subunit. The alpha subunit catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane. This action creates the electrochemical gradient of sodium and potassium ions, providing the energy for active transport of various nutrients.
