Description (Long Description) :
Oligophrenin1 stimulates GTP hydrolysis of members of the Rho family. It could activate GTPase targets that are known to affect cell migration and outgrowth of axons and dendrites. It is a 802 amino acid protein of estimated molecular mass of ~92 kDa that is expressed in the brain. Defects in Oligophrenin1 are the cause of mental retardation X-linked OPHN1-related (MRXSO).
