Application_Details :

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 1.0-2.0 µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human caldesmon has a predicted length of 793 residues and a MW of 93 kDa. A concentration of 2.0-4.0 µg/mL is recommended to detect caldesmon in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Description (Long Description) : 

Caldesmon is an actin and myosin binding protein. It plays a major role in the regulation of smooth muscle and non-muscle contractile events. At least 5 isoforms are known from alternate splicing. High molecular weight h-caldesmon (isoform 1) of 120-150 kDa is predominantly expressed in smooth muscles. Lower molecular weight caldesmon l-caldesmon (isoforms 2,3,4 and 5) of 61-70 kDa is more abundant in non-muscle tissues and cells. This antibody reacts specifically with h-caldesmon.
