Increased levels of MAO B that have been identified in brain of Alzheimer’s patients. Monoamine oxidases (MAO B and MAO A) are well-known targets for antidepressant drugs and for drugs used to treat neurological disorders and aging diseases, such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. RANDOX recombinant MAO-B comprises a 488 amino acid fragment (2-489) corresponding to the cytoplasmic domain fragment of the mature MAO-B protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag.
