pbBACKGROUND DESCRIPTION:/b MAP kinase kinase 6 (Mek6/MKK6) is a 38 kDa dual-specificity protein kinase that is abundant in skeletal muscle and is activated by UV light, anisomycin, osmotic shock and inflammatory cytokines, but not by phorbol esters, NGF or EGF. Mek6 phosphorylates and activates MAP kinase such as p38 and p38 beta. Mek6 is phosphorylated and activated by ASK1, a MAPKKK that induces apoptosis when overexpressed. Mek6 also interacts with mixed lineage kinase-3 (MLK-3), a kinase that participates in stress response kinase cascade, possibly by phosphorylating MKK4, an isoform of Mek6./p
pbAPPLICATION AND USAGE:/b The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (1-4 ug/ml) and immunoprecipitation (4-20 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually./p
