pbBACKGROUND DESCRIPTION: /bMek Family contains at least 7 members. Mek1 (also called MAP kinase kinase) specifically phosphorylates the MAP kinase regulatory threonine and tyrosine residues present in Erk. A second Mek family member, Mek2, resembles Mek1 in its substrate specificity. Mek3 founctions to activate p38 MAP kinase. Mek4 activates both p38 and JNK MAP kinases. Mek5 specifically phosphorylates Erk5. Mek6 phosphorylates p38 and p38ß® Mek7 phosphorylates and activates the JNK signal transduction pathway./p
pbAPPLICATION AND USAGE: /bThe antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (1-4 ug/ml), immunoprecipitation (5-10 ug/ml), and immunohistochemistry (10-20 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually./p
pbSPECIFICITY: /bThe immunoaffinity-purified rabbit antibody recognizes a 45 kDa protein, corresponding to the apparent molecular weight of Mek2 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots in samples of human, mouse, rat origins. Jurkat or NIH3T3 cell lysate can be used as a positive control./p
