Description
b-Pompilidotoxin (b-PMTX)
Enhancer of NaV Currents (Slows inactivation)
| Product#: | P-180 |
| Sizes: |
| 1 mg |
| 5 x 1 mg |
-PMTX is a homologous peptide to a-PMTX (position 12 is Arginine instead of Lysine). b-PMTX induces repetitive action potentials and facilitates both excitatory and inhibitory synaptic transmission.

b-PMTX was originally isolated from Anoplius samariensis and Batozonellus maclifrons wasps. This is a synthetic version of the peptide.

Recently it was found that this toxin slows the Na+-channel inactivation, without changing the peak current-voltage relationship or the activation time course of the TTX-sensitive Na+ currents in the neuromuscular synapse of the lobster walking leg and in the rat trigeminal ganglion neurons.1-3 b-PMTX is five times more potent than a-PMTX.1,2
