Deoxyuridine 5'-triphosphate nucleotidohydrolase, mitochondrial (dUPTase) is involved in nucleotide metabolism: it produces dUMP, the immediate precursor of thymidine nucleotides and it decreases the intracellular concentration of dUTP so that uracil cannot be incorporated into DNA.
