Description
pnbsp;strongAntibody Target :/strongDNA-PK/p
pbHost: /bRabbit/p
pbAntibody Type: /bPolyclonal/p
pbIsotype: /bRabbit IgG/p
pbAntibody Form: /bAffinity Purified Antibody/p
pbImmunogen Sequence: /bSynthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding amino acid 4088 of human DNA-PK/p
pbAccession#: /bP78527/p
pbGene ID: /b5591/p
pbAppearance: /bColorless liquid/p
pbConcentration: /b0.5 mg/ml/p
pbFormulation: /b100 micro;g (0.5 mg/ml) immunoaffinity purified rabbit anti-DNA-PK polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal./p
pbPurification: /bAffinity purified/p
pbSpecies Reactivity: /bhu/ms/rt/ht/p
pbApplication: /bWB/p
pbApplication amp; Usage: /bWestern blot analysis (0.5-4 micro;g/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The immunoaffinity-purified antibody detects a gt;350,000 kDa and a 180,000 kDa protein (believed to be a processed form of the catalytic subunit), corresponding to the expected molecular weight of DNA-PKcs, in samples from human, mouse, rat and hamster origins./p
pbStorage Temp.: /b-20 deg;C/p
pbShipping : /bgel pack/p
pbShelf Life: /b12 months/p
pbHandling: /bThe antibody solution should be gently mixed before use./p
pbBrief Background Descriptions: /bDNA-dependent protein kinase (DNA-PK) is made up of 3 subunits, 2 Ku proteins and a large catalytic subunit (DNA-PKcs). DNA-PKcs falls into the phosphatidyl-inositol 3-kinase superfamily although it does have serine/threonine protein kinase activity. This subunit migrates on SDS-PAGE gels as an intact and smaller processed form. In vitro, DNA-PK phosphorylates several transcription factors and other DNA-binding proteins and is believed to play a role in DNA damage recognition, repair and transcription. There is evidence to suggest that DNA-PKcs may be a critical target for proteolysis by a caspase in apoptosis./p
