br /
strongSPECIES REACTIVITY:/strong human, mouse, rat br /
br /
strongFORMULATION: br /
/strong100 ug (0.2 mg/ml) affinity purified, rabbit anti-DcR2 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% thimerosal.br /
br /
strongSTORAGE CONDITIONS: br /
/strongStore at -20oC. For long term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles.br /
br /
strongBACKGROUND DESCRIPTION: br /
/strongApoptosis is induced by certain cytokines including TNF-a; and FasL/CD95L of the TNF superfamily through interaction with their death domain (DD)-containing receptors, TNFR1 and Fas/CD95, respectively. TRAIL/Apo2L is a member of the TNF superfamily and induces apoptosis in a variety of tumor cell lines. The functional receptors for TRAIL are DR4 and DR5. DcR1 (also known as TRAIL-R3 or TRID) is a decoy receptor for TRAIL. DcR2 was recently identified another member of the TRAIL receptor family. DcR2 has an extracellular TRAIL-binding domain but has a truncated DD that contains one third of a consensus death domain motif. HeLa cells transfected with DcR2 showed no increase in cell death. High levels of DcR2 specifically inhibit the cytotoxic action of TRAIL. DcR2 transcript is widely expressed in normal human tissues and this expression pattern differs from that of DcR4, DcR5, and DcR1 suggesting that it may have a distinct role. br /
br /
strongAPPLICATION AND USAGE: br /
/strongThe antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.br /
br /
strongSPECIFICITY:br /
/strongThe antibody detects a 36 kDa DcR2 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots. HeLa cell lysate can be used as a positive control. br /
br /
strongFOR RESEARCH USE ONLY! Not to be used in humans.br /
