pCD43 antibody recognizes a 95-135KD type I single chain transmembrane sialoglycoprotein also called leukosialin or sialophorin. CD43 antigen is expressed typically at high levels on all leukocytes except most resting B lymphocytes; pre-B cells and activated B cells do express CD43 antigen. Expression on platelets is weak, on erythrocytes and non-hematopoietic cells are negative. It was reported that CD43 antigen may be absent from T lymphocytes of patients with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome./p
