CD163 (human) - ELISA

The hemoglobin scavenger receptor CD163 is an interleukin-6 and glucocorticoid regulated macrophage/monocyte receptor. While CD163 is expressed as a membrane-bound protein, the extracellular portion is actively shed under certain conditions. There are strong indications that it serves an anti-inflammatory function. Soluble CD163 is an abundant plasma protein potentially valuable in monitoring partients with infectious and cancerous diseases. The kit is a sandwich ELISA with a monoclonal capture antibody and a polyclonal, HRPO-conjugated detection antibody. It includes a precoated plate, antigen standard, detection antibody, reagents and buffers to perform this assay.
