pbHOST:/b Rabbit/p
pbIMMUNOGEN:/b Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 186 of human CCR8./p
pbSPECIES REACTIVITY:/b human/p
pbFORMULATION:/b 100 ug (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-CCR8 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal./p
pbSTORAGE CONDITIONS:/b Store at -20oC or -70oC. For optimal storage, aliquot and freeze at -20oC to -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles./p
pbBACKGROUND:/b CCR8 is one of the chemokine receptors that are required as coreceptors for HIV infection. The genes encoding human and murine CCR8 were cloned and designated TER1, CKR-L1, and ChemR1. The encoded seven transmembrane protein was identified as the receptor for human CC chemokine I-309 and renamed CCR8. Recently, CCR8 was found to serve as a coreceptor for diverse T-cell tropic, dual-tropic and macrophage-tropic HIV-1 strains. CCR8 mediates CC chemokine I-309 induced monocyte chemoattraction and HIV-1 envelop fusion and virus infection, which can be prevented by the CCR8 ligand I-309. CCR8 is expressed in spleen, thymus and Y-lymphoblastic cell lines./p
pbAPPLICATION AND USAGE:/b The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (0.5-4 ug/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. An approximately 50 kDa human CCR8 should be detected. Human spleen tissue lysate can be used as a positive control./p
