Caspase 9 Mito Casp

A simultaneous dual parameter assay for mitochondrial membrane potential detection and caspase 9 activity. Active caspase 9 is detected by carboxyfluorescein (FAM)-labeled fluoromethylketone (FMK) peptide inhibitor, which is cell-permeable, non-cytotoxic and binds covalently to the active caspase 9 within the cells. At the same time the mitochondrial membrane potential is visualized by a cell-permeable cationic red fluorescent dye which is accumulated by the mitochondria of healthy but not apoptotic cells. The kit can be used in conjunction with other antibodies or stains. Application: Fluorescence via flow cytometry, microwell plate reader, and microscopy.
