IMMUNOGEN: Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids residues around 162 of human caspase-5 (ID# BV-29). FORMULATION: 100 ?g (0.2 mg/ml) immunoaffinity purified rabbit anti-caspase-5 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.

SPECIES REACTIVITY: human, rat STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store at -20oC. For long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -70oC. Avoid repeated freeze/defrost cycles. BACKGROUND: Caspase family of cysteine proteases has been shown to play a key role in apoptosis. Caspase-5 is also known as Ich-3 and ICErel-III and can proteolytically processed by granzyme B. Over expression of caspase-5 induces apoptosis in Rat-1 and HeLa cells, which can be inhibited by CrmA and Bcl-2.

APPLICATION AND USAGE: The antibody can be used for Western blotting (1-2 ?g/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.

SPECIFICITY: The antibody detects the 47 kDa full length, 30 kDa intermediate, and the 20 kDa cleaved forms of caspase-5. Rat kidney cell lysate can be used as a positive control. NOTE:
