Description
Anti-Kir2.2
K
ir2.2 is a member of the inward rectifying K
+ channel family.
The K
ir2 subfamily comprises 4 known members: K
ir2.1, K
ir2.2, K
ir2.3 and K
ir2.4.
The K
ir2 subfamily members are strong inward rectifiers and are believed to be
involved in maintaining the resting membrane potential and buffering of extracellular K
+.
The K
ir2.2 subunit is expressed in the CNS, kidney and heart where it was found to
form heteromeric channels with K
ir2.1.
