Description
Acetyltransferase enzyme. Acetylates histones, giving a specific tag for transcriptional activation. Also acetylates non-histone proteins, like NCOA3 coactivator. Mediates cAMP-gene regulation by binding specifically to phosphorylated CREB protein.
