 Immunohistochemistry: LS-B3727 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody LS-D2, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B3727 was determined to be 10 ug/ml. Learn more

GFAP Antibody Specificity

 

Immunogen:

GFAP antibody was raised against pellet of porcine brain cold-stable proteins after depolymerization of microtubules.

 

Specificity:

Reacts with GFAP molecules. GFAP is the principal marker of astroglial cells in the central nervous system; it is specifically expressed in satellite cells in peripheral ganglia and in non myelinating Schwann cells in peripheral nerves. The GFAP protein runs on gels at ~55 kD protein, usually associated with lower Mw bands which are thought to be proteolytic fragments and alternate transcripts from the single gene.
