EPCAM Antibody Specificity

Immunogen: EPCAM antibody was raised against small cell lung carcinoma cells.

Specificity: Recognizes human EpCAM (epithelial specific antigen), a 40kD epithelial protein expressed on baso-lateral cell surface in many epithelial tissues (but absent from mesothelial tissue). Differentiates between mesothelioma and carcinoma.
