Description

Anaplastic Lymphoma Kinase (ALK) is an orphan receptor with a tyrosine-protein kinase activity. ALK plays an important role in the normal development and function of the nervous system. ALK is expressed in the brain and CNS as well as in the small intestines and testis, but not in normal lymphoid cells.
